The population of Orleans Parish is just over 375,000 people. In the same parish, there are only a little over 500 churches.

At Centered Church we walk together by walking with Christ. These verses are at the core of everything we do. Join us as we love and serve our neighborhood!

Gospel Focus

Biblical

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the foundation of all truth. Everything we believe is built on this foundation.

Liturgical

We believe that we can learn from those who have gone before us. The ancient faith is still relevant today. We worship in ways that are both ancient and modern.

Spirit-Filled

We believe that the Holy Spirit is still living and working in us today! He is gifting believers with spiritual gifts to build His church, and He is still performing miracles.

Radiating Love

Relational

We believe that all people a created in the Image of God and are to be loved. Our environment can often be transactional, but we desire to build deep meaningful community in and for our neighborhood.

Multi-Cultural

As an overflow of our relational focus, we strive to be multicultural in our approach to every aspect of ministry. We seek to celebrate the diverse cultures of the community and integrate not assimilate those cultures into our own culture.

Creative

God created our world beautiful, we seek to imitate Him in that. Creativity in the arts and in ministry will be a core part of our ministry in uptown.

Our Team

Thomas Johnson

Lead Pastor

Abby and I moved to New Orleans from Georgia in 2018. We fell in love with the city and felt the call to stay and plant a church in 2020. In 2022, we welcomed our first child Samuel into the world at Oschner Baptist. Thomas has masters degrees in music and in theology, and has been ordained and sent by Grace Community Church and Missio Mosaic. We hope that you will come join the community of Centered Church.

Get Involved

Here are three ways to get involved in our Mission:

1. Pray

Without the Spirit of God, no church can complete the mission before it! Join us in prayer as we reach our neighborhood. Do this by requesting to join our prayer partner list.

2. Join

We need friends as we reach and bless our neighborhood. Come join along side us in mission and ministry to our neighborhood. Contact us for more info on how you can send a mission team.

3. Give

Any new work is difficult and we believe God provides for every need. That said, He may choose to provide through your generous giving. We humbly and boldly ask that you give financially to the mission of reaching New Orleans with the Gospel.
